Having grown up on cruise liners travelling the world with my musical family, it was inevitable then that I would pursue a career at sea.

From early days in an Oppie in Poole Harbour, I went on to take part in dinghy sailing regattas and races from the National Match Racing Championships, to crewing a J24 at Queen Mary Sailing Club and later an Open 30 with Alex Bennett as part of the British Youth Sailing Team.

The excitement of securing a place on Tracy Edwards’ Catamaran Royal & Sun Alliance in ’96 was only short lived when sponsors specified a crew change. After a few yacht deliveries and some racing at the Cowes Week regatta, I decided to get a ‘proper job’ and hang up my Musto’s for a while.

Almost 11 years later, on a sailing trip aboard Spirit of Australia, I decided that I’d wasted enough time ‘pen pushing’ and I came back to the UK and joined the Warsash Spring Series on Hunter 707, Sword. By the end of the year I was crewing a Mills 36, with the Rolex Commodores Cup campaign in view. As part of the Black Group team, we won the Commodores Cup and I have continued to crew and deliver a variety of yachts and sailboats.

Following on from recent success in Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, where we won the Sportsboat Class on Hunter 707, Turbulence, I have a hectic winter lined up of Yachtmaster Courses and Winter Series racing.

When I am not messing about in boats, I am triathlon training and have competed in Ironman 70.3 and SteelMan competitions as well as smaller club Triathlon events. I am a keen open water swimmer and scuba diver and usually happy on or in the water!

I have spent the last 7 years working in sales which is a tough environment and you need resilience, which I have by the bucket load. I am a great team member, good fun, reliable and passionate about my sport.

A list of my sailing and racing experience is available to download. Visit the page, shown on the main website toolbar, titled CV.
